Beverly, Massachusetts, The NYX Marcom Awards recently announced the 2021 international winners from a pool of 2163 entries from 33 countries. We are delighted to have been selected as an NYX Marcom Award winner for our non-profit branding work on behalf of the Termeer Foundation.

The International NYX Marcom Awards program was juried by a group of international marketing judges who evaluated the work based on their creative proficiency and demonstrated excellence. “All the amazing individuals, agencies, and companies who joined the NYX Awards this year prove that creativity never dies, even in these trying times”, said Kenjo Ong, CEO of the International Awards Associate (IAA). “This win by Communications, Ink is a testament to their unbridled talent!”

Our recent work earned us a silver medal for our branding on behalf of The Termeer Foundation. Founded by the family of Henri Termeer, a pioneer in the biotech industry, this private Foundation approached us to help launch their new entity. “As a small marketing agency it is particularly rewarding to be recognized for our work among such leading agencies. We take tremendous pride in creating marketing materials that are visually creative as well as strategically effective. This new brand not only helps the Foundation create greater awareness for their work but supports their efforts to expand their impact in the lifescience industry.” Cara Hutchins, Founder & CEO of Communications, Ink.

Together we created a custom flame icon that represented the legacy of Henri Termeer and ripples that illustrated the power of making connections. We then married the visuals with a font that represented the collaborative opportunities of their programs as well as the tagline “Connections Empowering Cures.” Given the movement of the flame and ripples we animated the logo for presentations and video introductions.

We then translated the brand across a new website, print materials and a “welcome kit” for their newly minted Fellows. In addition to the marketing materials, we were selected to help them create and oversee a virtual event that celebrated The Termeer Fellows and featured Stephane Bancel, CEO of Moderna as a keynote speaker. The event was viewed around the United States, Europe and Israel from a custom event microsite.

Beverly, Massachusetts: Judging has been completed for the 27th Annual Communicator Awards and we are delighted our work has been selected by The Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts. With over 6,000 entries received from across the United States and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications, professionals.

“The work entered in this year’s Communicator Awards is even more impressive than in seasons’ past," noted Eva McCloskey, managing director of the AIVA. She added, “On behalf of the Academy, I would like to thank all of this season’s entrants for their willingness to produce such boundary-pushing, effective and outstanding work."

When COVID-19 struck, the founders of Pyxis saw an opportunity for both their business and the community. They owned a large packaging company that had been idled due to the pandemic. They were also aware of a dire shortage of PPE within the healthcare system. They quickly retooled and were soon producing easy to assemble, recyclable face shields.

With time of the essence, they reached out to Communications, Ink to see if we could help them create a brand, ecommerce website and publicity around their face shields. We quickly turned around a custom logo that leveraged the “green” aspect of the shield, executed a socially-distanced photoshoot and activated a new website as well as social media. In just a few weeks they were taking orders for their shields and protecting essential workers.

“It is especially gratifying to have been recognized for our work during the pandemic. Like all businesses we had to quickly adapt to the new landscape—working remotely and figuring out ways to create virtually. Pyxis Face Shields is an example of the powerful partnerships we enjoy creating with our clients.” Cara Hutchins, Founder & CEO of Communications, Ink.
